gif book cover illustration 80's graphics inspired  gif formic homeworld at night  formic homeworld landscape formic homeworld landscape  trailer gif t o create the gifs I took scenes from the movie which I cut out on Adobe Photoshop, then I cut the movie into tiny scenes which I found interesting I then converted the video into frames using the option on PhotoShop, Then I added a text in the frames that I felt were suitable. In The gif captioned 80s graphics inspired gif, I cut out an illustration that I referenced an idea from from the costume designer of the Ender’s Game movie then I cut out the background and I cut out the PNG and I put it on the gif to show the first Formic invasion. For the trailer I cut out parts from the movie I thought compelling and I chose a sci-fi theme song that I found on YouTube. After referencing the original book covers of the enders game book series I decided to illustrate my own cover after referencing

Mood Board For my 7 Moments in a SCI-FI Story

Image
I made a mood board about my 7 Moments in a SCI-FI Story project mood board for this project I planned to make a trailer for the Ender's Game movie, three gifs, a book cover illustration for Ender's Game and two illustrations depicting the Formic Homeworld(Antagonistic alien race of Ender's Game). my initial idea was to save photos of the original book covers so th I found pictures of termite homes (termaniums) and a building incorporating sculptured design elements representing natural forms such as animals, mushrooms, spider webs and caves so  could better represent what an advanced ant like species would be like. I also saved images of concept designs by the costume designers working on the movie to give myself ideas.

3d Coffee Cup

Image
I thought it would be interesting to practice making a 3D cup on Photoshop. I created the Cup Shape by using “3D,” menu then selecting  “New Shape from Layer” and choosing “Cylinder” from the list. I Selected the “3D Rotate” tool from the Tools panel, then clicked and dragged to rotate the cylinder and  made touch ups accordingly using the Markuee tool to take out the parts I was unhappy  with, then I created the Lid Shape using the shape tool then snipping off the edges, added a gradient fill after merging the lid layer to give off the light effect off the lid and give it a 3d texture, then I made the coffee cup label using the shape tool as well and added Label Finishing Touches by using the gradient fill and the line tool. I added shadows to the bottom of the cup by using the circle shape tool and playing around with the setting and shadows effect to represent a shadow to my liking.  it was interesting to think of a nice heading so I went on the internet to research quotes  abou

ALBUM ART

Image
I made a p cover for an album on  Photoshop. i wanted to explore the idea of psychedelic  art.  I used the  quick selection tool ,layers, magic wand tool, erasers, shortcuts and adjustment of brightness, contrast, hue,  saturation to  achieve this activity.   At first, I researched on the internet to find out the required dimensions for a graphic album art and my finding where 1600 x 1600 pixels which i used then  I selected pictures from the internet and an image of myself that i felt i could use to create. I made use of the “Rasterize Layer” option to start making changes to the images. Then the magic wand tool helped.  I then also used the option of the select mask tool to better fine tune my selection. The shortcut Ctrl+t allowed me to arrange the pictures in a more convenient way. I  modified the brightness, contrast  fill and opacity of the pictures to my preference.  The title of the cover album was made with the type tool, then  the words where  quick selected  and cut out

ANIMATED ROBOT

I made a short animation on the program Adobe animation also known as Flash. I started with basic shapes like circles and rectangles to make a classic Robot. As I was making the robot  I used the convert to symbol tool so every time I had to move the robot, it would move consistently. Then I created two shapes for the eyes. I made a short animation so it would move separately from the robot. To make the robot move, I placed it in different frames.  It was moving in a “stop motion” way so to  finish it and smooth, I made use of the create classic tween tool, so it would feel more natural.

ICE CREAM PARTY

Image
I made a poster for an ice cream themed party on photoshop. I found images that worked well with the theme I wished to convey. I started by creating a new document and because it is a flyer and will be printed, I used the CMYK color mode. I then a dded Texture to the  background by adding an icream pattern backround which I then removed the original background from and played around with the fill and opacity, I selected some of the text with quick select then applied a rainbow gradient fill. I also searched on a png website and found a nice one to use. Then I added some text to the flyer that I further developed by turning the text into a clip mask and cutting out the words from the images of icream cones in a pattern. I made  use of bright pastel colours and I was pleased with my results

LAPLACE'S DEMON

Image
I thought it would be interesting to create art on photoshop with a concept of mty choosing. i choose Laplace's concept because I wanted to work and create an image that didn't have as many interpretations and remakes.   "We may regard the present state of the universe as the effect of its past and the cause of its future. An intellect which at any given moment knew all of the forces that animate nature and the mutual positions of the beings that compose it, if this intellect were vast enough to submit the data to analysis, could condense into a single formula the movement of the greatest bodies of the universe and that of the lightest atom; for such an intellect nothing could be uncertain and the future just like the past would be present before its eyes." — Marquis Pierre Simon de Laplace hopefully this quote explains the intellect and creature that is referred to as Laplace's demon. I took a photograph of my self and pictures from NASA of
